Recently, several firefighters spoke with a large group of CSN clients about the importance of fire safety and what it is like to be a Madison firefighter.
During their visit, one of the firefights showed our Clients all of the different tools they use while battling fires, and demonstrated the use of different equipment on their fire truck. Clients were able to ask questions, feel the equipment and were able to be up close to a real fire engine! They even put on the lights and sirens for a few moments!
Later in the presentation, they showed the clients all of the different pieces of gear that they wear and how they are used. The firefighter was covered head to toe in his gear and showed the clients how much protection goes into what they wear. Again, the clients were able to feel the equipment and ask questions about how to use it.
At the end of the presentation, clients were allowed to pose by the fire engine, received Madison Firefighter stickers, and were able to interact with the firefighters one-on-one to ask more questions and get to know them!
We were so grateful to have them visit and made them thank you cards with fire engines on them! The firefighters told us that they would hang up our cards at Station #10 and would visit again soon!
