Do you have some old jars or bottles laying around? Would you like a cute, colorful piece of decor? This easy craft can turn some of your recycling into a bright, beautiful vase or pretty centerpiece.
What you will need: clean jars/bottles, modge podge, tissue paper (assorted colors), paintbrushes.
First, you will need to decide what colors you want on your jars. If you would like more of a fall theme, you can use yellows, oranges, reds and browns. For this project, we chose a colorful, more springtime/summer color theme. Tear your chosen paper up into smaller pieces.
Next, you will need to prepare the modge podge. Mix one part modge podge and one part water in a bowl to thin it out. Your jar will need to be clean and dry before you begin to work on it.
Spread some of the modge podge on the surface of the glass, then gently lay the tissue paper on top of it. You can add more modge modge on top of it to make sure that the paper sticks. Add several layers. Feel free to overlay the paper if you like. Cover they entire glass.
After the whole glass is covered in both tissue and modge podge, let the jar dry. If you want to add more layers of tissue, feel free, but if you like the transparent look of the tissue paper, just stay with one layer.
Now your project is complete. You can use the jar as a vase, a candle holder or for whatever you like!
