This week’s cooking class snack was black bean and corn salad. The ingredients used were: black beans, frozen kernels, red bell pepper, red onion, ground cumin, Tabasco Sauce, lime, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
First the group had to cut the vegetables and drain and rinse the beans.
Then they combined the ingredients in the bowl.
Then stirred some ingredients in the bowl.
Then the group enjoyed the complete snack.
This is what some of the clients involved had to say about the snack:
“I helped in cooking class today by reading a food recipe sheet.” -Jim
“My favorite part of cooking class today was putting everything into a bowl.” -Cheryl
“I can remember one of the ingredients used in the snack today. It’s called red bell pepper.” -Nikki
“Of course, I liked the snack today.” -Job Coach Scott.
“I learned one thing today that frozen corn kernels can cool down the rest of the dish. -Job Coach Scott.
