CSN has been a real greenhouse this season!
After planting and caring for dozens of basil plants from seed, we thought we’d save three plants to propagate from, and it has made all the difference! With three parent plants we were able to produce another 13 plants from cuttings. After harvesting the first set of cuttings our parent plants have come back even fuller and allowed us to collect another 20 cuttings. These are in the rooting stage and the starter plants already look like they are ready for another harvest. Talk about production!
Move over Basil, there’s a new herb in town and it’s name is Oregano! Just kidding, we’ve got plenty of room for the both of you. Soon to come, we’ll have Thyme and Mint. Man it’s smelling good in here!
The Community Plant Project is an ongoing project at CSN where clients plant, care for, use and donate different herbs to people and businesses in the community.
