Recently Community Support Network has begun working with Magazine Literacy, a Madison-based charity with a global, industry-wide literacy campaign for children and families. The charity supplies donated magazines to underprivileged or at-risk children or families to help with literacy. Magazine literacy company receives both new and gently used magazine and comic book donations for redistribution to the people who need them. CSN aids this important mission by sorting and checking quality of the donated materials, making sure they are like new for their new readers.
Below is an excerpt from an article on Magazine Literacy’s site:
“By opening their arms and hearts to us, the Community Support Network has taken our literacy mission to a whole new level – it’s game-changing. At our Global Literacy Outreach Center in Madison WI, MagazineLiteracy.org receives recycled magazine and comic book donations from generous consumers and businesses coast-to-coast who want to share their favorites with new readers. Our success matching literacy needs depends on sorting and cataloging the incoming magazines for selection by literacy programs. Our mission is made possible by community partnerships with can-do teams like the Community Support Network that collect, sort, and share reading materials with vital literacy programs.”
CSN is thrilled to have a new partner in the community with such a noble and important mission, and looks forward to assisting Magazine Literacy any way they can.
