At CSN we do several projects over the course of the week. Some of these projects are about an academic subject, some of them are art projects, and some of these projects are for building skill sets. “Daily Living Skills” projects cover a wide range subjects, all of them are designed to help clients build skill sets to aid them in their daily lives.
Below we have the instructions the group used for this project, and the piece that they made.
Directions: As a group come up with a list of good qualities or traits. (Ex. Being nice or helping others) Write them on the whiteboard. Talk about each client’s good qualities or traits.
Making the Self Esteem Pizza
- Color the inside circle of the plate (ex. yellow)
- Color the rest of the plate (ex. orange)
- Write down one good quality or trait on each topping.
- Glue each topping on the pizza.
Go around the group and share everyone’s pizza.
This project is a fun and artistic way of showcasing all of the wonderful things you can do and building self esteem through positive affirmations. Also, everyone loves pizza!
