Every week our Case Management Coordinator, Sarah, teaches a new sign to staff. The sign generally relates to the weather, upcoming events, or consistent aspects of Clients’ lives (basic needs, relationships, etc.). We post the sign around the CSN buildings, and Coaches are expected to use it with Clients whenever possible.
After a little holiday hiatus, our ASL group re-grouped in January and spent several sessions reviewing past vocabulary and grammar using a new game that Sarah calls “ASL Phase 10”. This month we will be going over some new grammar rules, practicing proper word order, and trying to fill in our vocabulary with more words we use around CSN.
This week Sarah will show you how to sign the word “health” or “healthy”. Place both hands open on your shoulders, then pull them away from your body and close your fists.
Watch the video above to see how it’s done.
