One of our recent snacks in cooking class were Apple-wiches. They’re like sandwiches, but instead of bread we used apples. The ingredients used were apples, peanut butter, granola, and raisins. First, the group had to wash the apples.
Next they cut them.
They put peanut butter on the apples.
Then, they put granola and raisins on apple slices.
Finally, they made a sandwich out of the two apple halves.
Then the group enjoyed the completed snack.
This is what some of the clients involved had to say about the snack:
“Today, I did help in cook group today by making my own applewich. Nikki
“My favorite part of cook group today was cutting the apple.” April
“I can remember one of the ingredients used in the snack today. It’s called peanut butter.” Justin
“I liked the snack today.” Sharon
“I learned everthing in the snack today that it was healthy.” Job Coach Dane.
